Iran fired missile that killed 176 people on flight 752.

(Financial News – Tehran, Iran) Iran has admitted to firing the missile that downed Ukrainian International Airlines flight 752 leaving Tehran bound for Kiev. Officials confirm that they have accidently shot down the jetliner, citing confusion and human error for the mistake.

Flight 752 was shot down by Iran shortly after initiating a missile stike against US installations in Iraq.

What we know about the aircraft

The aircraft was manufactured in 2016 by Boeing. It was a Boeing 737-8KV and was delivered directly to Ukrainian International Airlines by Boeing. The Plane was built in Everette, Washington at Boeing Everett Factory.

Originally Iran denied all claims of downing flight 752

As recently as Friday, Iranian aviation cheif, Ali Abedzadeh, said he was “certain” that the plane was not hit by a missile. This was in response to US, European and Candian intelligence suggesting that flight 752 was downed by an Iranian missile accidently during heightened tensions immediately following an Iranian attack on US installations in Iraq.

Iranian spokesperson, Ali Rabeiei stated that west is “lying and engaging in psychological warfare,” regarding claims of US, Canada and Europe suggesting that credible intelligence suggested that iran shot down the plane during heightened tensions during the escalating situation over the death of Qasem Soleimani.

Iran concedes to accidently shooting down flight 752

After standing firm for days that Iran had nothing to do with the downing of Ukrainian International Airlines flight 752, Tehran conceded that they accidently shot down the airliner carrying 176 people on board. Iranian officials blamed human error. They explaned the plane had take a sharp and unexpected turn that brought it very near a sensative military base.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani posted on Twitter that Iran “Deeply regrets this disastrous mistake.” The president also issued a statement offering his deepest sympathies and condolences to the families of the victims. He further stated that “the terrible catastrophe should be thoroughly investigated.” He also goes on to say that this unforgivable mistake will prosectued.

Volodymr Zelensky demands “a full admission of guilt.”

The Ukrainian President stated that Ukraine would, “insist on a full admission of guilt” by Iran. He went on to say on a Facebook post:

“We expect Iran to assure its readiness for a full and open investigation, to bring those responsible to justice, to return the bodies of the victims, to pay compensation, and to make official apologies through diplomatic channels… We hope that the investigation will continue without artificial delays and obstacles.”
