Overview of today’s trading day:

Major indices around the world mostly ended in the red, with all indices in the Americas and Europe groups experiencing losses. As for the APAC group, indices ended in the green with the exception of one. Gold is up so far while Silver and Platinum are in the red. Brent and Crude oil are also both in the red. On the crypto front, Bitcoin, Ethereum and Ripple are all in the red so far.

Americas

In the Americas group, each of the five indices ended in the red today. The biggest loss was experienced by the NASDAQ (-4.11%), which fell over four percent come market close. Next was the S&P 500 (-2.76%) and the Dow (-2.25%), with the former losing over two and a half percent while the latter two and a quarter percent. The best performance from this group today was seen by the S&P/TSX (-0.76%), which fell over half a percent.

Europe

In the Europe group, each of the five indices ended in the red today. The CAC (-1.59%) fell the most at over one and a half percent. Up next was the Euro Stoxx (-1.41%) and DAX (-1.01%), with both indices losing over one percent. The best performance from this group today was seen by the FTSE (-0.12%), which fell just over a tenth of a percent come market close.

APAC

In the APAC group, five out of six indices ended in the green today. Leading the gains was the S&P/ASX (+1.06%), which increased by over one percent. Next up was the Nikkei (+0.8%) and KOSPI (+0.74%), with both indices gaining over half a percent. The worst performance from this group today, and the only index ending in the red, was the Sensex (-0.14%), which fell less than a quarter percent.

Brent (-4.95%) and Crude (-5.74%) are both in the red so far, with the former down just under five percent and the latter over five and a half percent. Per barrel prices are at around $39.93 for Brent and $36.95 for Crude.

On the crypto front, each of the three cryptos included within are in the red. Ethereum (-4.76%) is down the most at over four and a half percent. Next, Bitcoin (-3.49%) is in the red by roughly three and a half percent. Lastly, Ripple (-2.93%) also took a hit today and decreased by just under three percent.
