Overview of today’s trading day:

Major indices around the world mostly ended in the red today, with all indices in the Europe and APAC group ending in the red and all but one in the Americas group. Gold, Silver and Platinum are all up while oil is down. Lastly, Bitcoin, Ethereum and Ripple are all in the green today.

Americas

In the Americas group, four out of five indices ended in the red today. Losing the most was the S&P/TSX (-1.38%) followed by the NASDAQ (-1.27%), with both falling over one and a quarter percent come market close. Next, the S&P 500 (-0.82%) and Dow (-0.56%) both fell over half a percent. The best performance from this group, and the only one ending in the green today, was the Bovespa (+0.41%), which fell just under half a percent.

Europe

In the Europe group, five out of five indices ended in the red today. The biggest hit was taken by the DAX (-1.65%), which fell over one and a half percent come market close. Next, the Euro Stoxx (-1.32%) and CAC (-0.89%) followed, with the former losing over one percent while the latter just under one percent. The best performance from this group was seen by the SMI (-0.37%), which fell over a quarter percent.

The biggest losses were taken by the S&P/ASX (-3.06%) at over three percent, the Sensex (-1.63%), at over one and a half percent, and the Hang Seng (-1.25%) at one and a quarter percent in the red. The best performance from this group was seen by the SSE (-0.87%), which fell just under one percent.

As for oil, Brent (-3.68%) is down over three and a half percent while Crude (-4.38%) over four and a quarter percent. Per barrel prices are at around $42.45 for Brent and $39.56 for Crude.

On the crypto front, each of the three included within are in the green so far. Ripple (+4.76%) is leading with over a four and a half percent gain, followed by Bitcoin (+3.99%) at roughly four percent and lastly Ripple (+2.26%) at over two and a quarter percent.
