Overview of today’s trading day:

Major indices around the world mostly ended in the red today, with all indices in the Americas and Europe group along with half in the APAC group experiencing losses. Gold, Silver and Platinum are all down so far along with both Brent and Crude oil. Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Ripple are all three in the red too, with the crypto market not being spared either today.

Americas

In the Americas group, five out of five indices ended in the red today. Leading the losses was the NASDAQ (-4.87%), which fell just under five percent today. This was followed by the S&P 500 (-3.45%) and the Dow (-2.75%), with the former losing roughly three and a half percent while the latter two and three quarters of a percent. The best performance from this group was seen by the Bovespa (-1.34%), which still fell over one and a quarter percent come the closing bell.

Up next was the DAX (-1.4%) and the Euro Stoxx (-1.01%), with both indices losing over one percent. The best performance out of this group today was by the CAC (-0.44%), which fell just under half a percent come market close.

Next up was the Nikkei (+0.94%) and S&P/ASX (+0.81%), with both indices gaining just under one percent. The worst performing index from this group today was the SSE (-0.58%), which fell over half a percent come market close.

Cryptocurrency

On the crypto front, each of the three cryptocurrencies within are deep in the red today. Leading the losses is Ethereum (-8.48%), which fell roughly eight and a half percent to a price of $401. Next, Bitcoin (-6.47%) fell roughly six and a half percent with the price tanking down to around $10,674. Lastly, Ripple (-4.91%) dropped just under five percent down to around $0.2625.
