Overview of today’s trading day:

Major stock indices around the world mostly ended in the green today, with all indices in the Americas group and most in the Europe and APAC group experiencing gains. Gold and Silver are in the red so far while Platinum is in the green. Both Brent and Crude oil are also in the green so far today. Lastly, Bitcoin, Ethereum and Ripple are all in the green so far.

Americas

In the Americas, five out of five indices ended in the green today. Leading the gains was the Bovespa (+2.66%) with an increase of over two and a half percent. This was followed by the NASDAQ (+1.39%) and the S&P 500 (+0.78%), with the former gaining over one percent while the latter less than one percent. The weakest performance from this group today was seen by the Dow (+0.76%), which still managed to gain over three quarters of a percent.

Europe

In the Europe group, three out of five indices ended in the green today. The SMI (+0.53%) led the gains with over a half percent increase, followed by the DAX (+0.22%) and the Euro Stoxx (+0.15%) with both gaining less than a quarter percent. The worst performance from this group was seen by the FTSE (-1.7%), which fell over one and a half percent come market close.

Next was the Sensex (+0.71%) at over half a percent followed by the SSE (+0.44%) at less than half a percent. The worst performance from this group today was seen by the S&P/ASX (-1.77%), which fell over one and a half percent.

As for commodities, metals including Gold (-0.17%) and Silver (-1.2%) are down so far while Platinum (+1.27%) is up. Platinum has seen the biggest change so far of over one and a quarter percent. Brent (+1.04%) and Crude (+0.7%) are both up with the former over one percent while the latter less than one percent. Per barrel prices are at around $45.75 for Brent and $42.91 for Crude.

On the Crypto front, each of the three cryptocurrencies within are in the green so far, with Ethereum (+9.80%) leading at just under ten percent. Ripple (+3.83%) managed to gain just under four percent while Bitcoin (+2.59%) rose over two and a half percent.
