Overview of today’s trading day:

(Financial News) Financial markets around the world experienced a day filled with red, with most markets experiencing declines during todays trading day. Major stock indices ended in the red for the most part in the Americas, Europe, and APAC group. As for commodities, metals including gold, silver, and platinum each saw decreases, while brent and crude oil saw increases. Crypto took a slight ding and dropped a few percent, with Ethereum leading the fall down.

Indices in the Americas mostly saw red, with four out of five experiencing losses today. The only index in the green, the Bovespa (+2.03%), saw just over a two percent increase. Leading the losses was the NASDAQ (-0.97%) at nearly one percent, while the S&P/TSX (-0.74%) was not too far behind at roughly three quarters of a percent. The Dow (-0.41%) saw a decline of point four one today come market close.

In the Europe group, the SMI was closed due to a holiday, leaving three out of the four remaining indices in the red come market close. The only index ending in the green, being the Euro Stoxx (+0.08%), only did so by point zero eight percent. The biggest loss was experienced by the Dax (-1.41%) which fell one point four one percent today. Next up was the CAC (-1.15%) and finally the FTSE (-0.86%).

Over in the APAC group, four of the six indices ended in the red, with the KOSPI (+0.44%) and Sensex (+0.37%) being the two indices ending in the green with gains just below half a percent. The biggest loss was experienced by the SSE (-0.55%) at just over a half percent loss. Next was the Hang Seng (-0.49%), which also saw roughly a half percent drop along with the S&P/ASX (-0.41%).

Gold (-1.56%) Silver (-3.23%) Platinum (-7.24%) all experienced decreases ranging from one and a half percent up to over seven percent. Brent (+1.06%) and Crude (+1.52%) both experienced increases, with the former gaining over one percent while the latter over one and a half. This resulted in Brent and Crude prices being at approximately $36 and $34 per barrel respectively.

On the crypto front, significant losses were experienced today as Bitcoin (-4.89%) tanked around five percent, which resulted in the price losing $466. Ethereum (-5.24%) also experienced similar losses, with the computing platform losing over five percent resulting in a price dip of around $11. Lastly, Ripple (-3.96%) was no exception to the losses today, with a drop of roughly four percent being experienced, which translates to a price drop of around $0.008.
