Overview of today’s trading day:

World markets included within this report saw mostly gains today, with all stock indices in Europe, most of them in the Americas, and half of them in the APAC group ending in the green. Gold and other metals saw significant increases too, while oil also experienced a nice jump. For crypto, however, it was red for each of the three included within.

In the Americas group, four out of five indices ended in the green today, with the biggest increase experienced by the by the S&P/TSX (+0.92%) at nearly one percent. Next was the NASDAQ (+0.79) followed by the S&P 500 (+0.43%). The worst performing index today, and the only one in the red from this group, was the Bovespa (-1.31%) with a loss over one and a quarter percent.

In Europe, each of the five indices ended in the green today, with the DAX (+1.24%) leading gains today at one and a quarter percent. Followed behind was the FTSE (+1.01%) and Euro Stoxx (+0.38%), with the former gaining over one percent while the latter less than one. The weakest performance from this group today was from the CAC (+0.11%), at just over a tenth of a percentage.

In the APAC group, three out of six indices ended in the green, with today’s leader being the S&P/ASX (+1.43%) at just under a one and a half percent gain. Next up was the Nikkei (+0.62%) and KOSPI (+0.12%), with both gaining less than one percent today. The worst performance from this group was seen by the Hang Seng (-0.14%), which ended over a tenth of a percent in the red.

Metals such as Gold (+0.73%), Silver (+5.72%), and Platinum (+5.90%) increased today, with the last two gaining over five and a half percent each today. As for oil, Brent (+5.20%) and Crude (+7.58%) both saw significant increases today. This brought oil prices to approximately $33 and $30 per barrel respectively.

On the crypto front, each of the three cryptos included within experienced declines, with Bitcoin (-3.01%) losing $291, Ethereum (-3.94%) losing $8, and finally Ripple (-2.94%) by $0.006. This resulted in BTC and XRP losing roughly three percent each, while ETH lost closer to four percent.
