Overview of today’s trading day:

Major stock indices mostly experienced gains today, with each index in the Americas and Europe group ending in the green. As for the APAC indices, all of them ended in the red today. Metals mostly saw green too, with Gold and Platinum increasing while Silver fell. As for oil, Brent and Crude both ended significantly in the green. Lastly, each of the three cryptos included within ended up increasing in the last 24 hours.

Americas

Today in the Americas group, five out of five indices ended in the green. Leading was the Dow (+2.32%) with over a two percent gain. This was followed by the Bovespa (+1.56%) and S&P 500 (+1.46%) with the two gaining over one and a half percent and under half a percent respectively. The weakest performance from this group today was experienced by the NASDAQ (+1.20%), which still managed to gain over one percent come market close.

Over in the Europe group, five out of five indices ended in the green today. The DAX (+1.18%) led with over a one percent increase followed by the FTSE (+1.01%), which also gained over one percent. Next up was the Euro Stoxx (+0.87%) and the CAC (+0.73%), with both gaining less than one percent. The weakest performance from this group today was experienced by the SMI (+0.18%), with an increase below a quarter percent.

APAC

In the APAC group, six out of six indices ended in the red today. Leading the losses was the Nikkei (-2.30%), which fell over two and a quarter percent. Next up was the KOSPI (-1.93%) at nearly two percent down, followed by the S&P/ASX (-1.51%) at over one and a half percent. The best performance from this group was by the Sensex (-0.60%), which still fell over half a percent come market close.

Commodities

Commodities experienced a decent amount of green today, with metals such as Gold (+0.10%) and Platinum (+1.19) both increasing, while Silver (-0.56%) fell. Out of these, Platinum changed the most with an increase of over one percent. As for oil, Brent (+2.15%) and Crude (+2.96%) both ended in the green today, with the former gaining over two percent and the latter close to three. This brought per barrel prices up to $42 for Brent and $40 for Crude.

Crypto experienced slight movements today with Ethereum (+0.89%) increasing the most by over three quarters of a percent, resulting in a price change of $2 bringing the price to $226. Next up, Ripple (+0.56%) increased by over half a percent, translating to a price change of $0.001 resulting in the price inching up to $0.178. Lastly, Bitcoin (+0.50%) experienced a gain of half a percent, resulting in the price changing by $46 to $9158.
