Overview of today’s trading day:

Major stock indices in the Americas, Europe, and APAC group experienced green all across the board, with each and every index within ending in the green. Commodities including gold and silver managed to increase, while both Brent and Crude oil were hit with decreases. Lastly, crypto remained relatively stable, with none of the three cryptos included within changing by more than one percent in the last 24 hours.

In the Americas, five out of five indices managed to end in the green today. Leading the gains was the NASDAQ (+0.74%) with a three quarter percent increase. This was followed by the Bovespa (+0.59%) at over half percent and the Dow (+0.50%) at half a percent. The weakest performance out of this group today was seen by the S&P/TSX (+0.35%), which still managed to gain over a quarter percent.

Over in Europe, each of the five indices from this group ended in the green today. The DAX (+2.13%) led with over a two percent gain, followed by the Euro Stoxx (+1.76%) at over a one and three quarter percent gain. The weakest performance from this group today was experienced by the SMI (+0.94%), which still managed to gain just under one percent come market close.

In the APAC group, six out of six indices ended in the green, with the Hang Seng (+1.62%) increasing the most by over one and a half percent. Next, the Sensex (+1.49%) and Nikkei (+0.50%) followed with the former gaining roughly one and a half percent while the latter half a percent. The weakest performance from this group today was experienced by the S&P/ASX (+0.17%), which gained just under a fifth of a percent.

As for commodities, metals such as Gold (+1.05%) and Silver (+1.12%) experienced gains, while Platinum (-0.05%) took a loss. Out of these three, Silver changed the most with over a one percent increase. Both Brent (-1.39%) and Crude (-1.15%) oil took losses, with the former losing close to one and a half percent while the latter over one percent. This brought oil prices per barrel down to approximately $42 for Brent and $40 for Crude.

Lastly, on the crypto front each of the three cryptos included within experienced relative stability in the last 24 hours. The biggest fluctuation was experienced by Ethereum (+0.83%), which managed to gain under one percent resulting in a price change of $2 to $244. Next up was Bitcoin (+0.79%) with a very similar performance to that of Ethereum. Bitcoin’s price changed by $76 resulting in an increase to $9640. Ripple (0.00%) experienced minimal changes to price in the last 24 hours.
