Overview of today’s trading day:

Major stock indices mostly ended in the red today, with every index in the Americas and Europe group ending in the red along with most in the APAC group also ending in the red. Metals including Gold, Silver and Platinum are all in the green so far while oil is in the red at the time of writing. Crypto also took a hit today with each of the three included within in the red so far since their open of 00:00UTC.

Americas

In the Americas group, five out of five indices ended in the red come market close. Taking the biggest hit was the Dow (-1.52%) with a loss of over one and a half percent. Next was the Bovespa (-1.21%) and S&P 500 (-1.06%), with both falling by over one percent. The best performance from this group today was seen by the S&P/TSX (-0.45%) with a decline of just under half a percent.

Europe

In the Europe group, five out of five indices ended in the red today. The FTSE (-1.53%) took the biggest hit with a fall of over one and a half percent. Next, the DAX (-0.92%) declined by nearly one percent followed by the Euro Stoxx (-0.85%) which fell over three quarters of a percent. The best performance from this group today was experienced by the SMI (-0.44%), which fell just below half a percent.

In the APAC group, two out of six indices ended in the green today. The Sensex (+0.51%) led with an increase of just over half a percent. Next, the only other index ending in the green from this group was the SSE (+0.37%), which increased by over a quarter percent. The worst performance was seen by the Hang Seng (-1.38%) followed by the KOSPI (-1.09%), with both indices declining by over one percent come market close.

Next, Ethereum (-1.41%) has fallen by just under one and a half percent, resulting in the price going down to around $238. Lastly, Bitcoin (-1.10%) is in the red so far by over one percent, with the price at around $9236 at the time of writing.
