Overview of today’s trading day:

Major stock indices mostly ended in the red with all indices in the Europe group and most in the APAC group ending in the red. Indices in the Americas group mostly ended in the green today. Metals such as Gold and Silver are up so far while Platinum is down. Furthermore, Brent and Crude oil are both up. Lastly, each Bitcoin, Ethereum and Ripple are in the green so far today.

Americas

In the Americas group, three out of five indices ended in the green today. Leading was the NASDAQ (+1.49%) with a gain of roughly one and a half percent. Next, the S&P 500 (+0.79%) rose over half a percent followed by the Dow (+0.44%) at just under half a percent. The worst performance from this group today was experienced by the Bovespa (-1.87%), which ended up falling over one and a half percent come market close.

Europe

In the Europe group, five out of five indices ended in the red today. Leading the losses was the FTSE (-1.54%), with a drop of over one and a half percent. Next up was the CAC (-1.43%) at just below one and a half percent, followed by the Euro Stoxx (-1.06%) at over one percent. The best performance from this group today was seen by the DAX (-0.54%), which fell just over half a percent.

APAC

In the APAC group, five out of six indices ended in the red today. The Nikkei (-2.82%) experienced the biggest hit with a decrease of well over two and a half percent. Up next was the S&P/ASX (-2.04%) down over two percent, and the KOSPI (-0.78%) with a loss of less than one percent. The best performance from this group today, and the only one ending in the green, was the SSE (+0.71%), which managed to increase over half a percent.

As for commodities, Gold (+1.45%) and Silver (+4.76%) are both up so far while Platinum (-0.31%) is in the red, with Silver changing the most out of the three by over four and a half percent. As for oil, Brent (+1.51%) and Crude (+1.18%) are both up so far with the former at over one and a half percent while the latter over one percent. Per barrel prices are at around $43.59 for Brent and $40.39 for Crude.

Cryptocurrency

On the crypto front, each of the three cryptos within are in the green so far. Ripple (+4.69%) is up the most at over four and a half percent, resulting in the price rising to around $0.2556. Next, Ethereum (+2.60%) is up over two and a half percent with ETH being around $343. Lastly, Bitcoin (+1.90%) is in the green at just under two percent with a price of around $11,306.
