Overview of today’s trading day:

Major stock indices mostly ended in the red today, with all indices in the Europe group and most in the Americas and APAC group ending in the red. Metals including Gold, Silver and Platinum are all in the red along with Brent and Crude oil. Lastly, crypto is in the green so far today with Bitcoin, Ethereum and Ripple all up so far.

Americas

In the Americas group, three out of five indices ended in the red today. The Dow (-0.85%) led losses with a decline of nearly one percent. Next, the Bovespa (-0.54%) fell over half a percent followed by the S& 500 (-0.34%), which fell less than half a percent. The best performance from this group today was by the NASDAQ (+0.43%), which saw an increase of just under half a percent.

Europe

In the Europe group, five out of five indices ended in the red today. The biggest hit was taken by the DAX (-3.45%), with a loss of roughly three and a half percent. Up next was the Euro Stoxx (-2.79%) with a loss over two and a half percent along with the FTSE (-2.31%) at over two percent. The best performance from this group was by the SMI (-1.73%), which still ended up falling over one and a half percent today.

APAC

In the APAC group, four out of six indices ending in the red today. Leading the losses was the Sensex (-0.88%), which fell just under one percent today. Next up was the Hang Seng (-0.69%) at over half a percent down followed by the Nikkei (-0.26%) at over a quarter percent in the red. The best performance from this group today was seen by the S&P/ASX (+0.74%), which managed to gain well over half a percent come market close.

As for commodities, metals including Gold (-0.26%), Silver (-3.62%) and Platinum (-4.54%) are all in the red so far with Platinum down the most at over four and a half percent. Brent (-0.69%) and Crude (-2.62%) are also both in the red, with the former falling over half a percent while the latter over two and a half percent. Per barrel prices are at approximately $43.45 for Brent and $40.19 for Crude.

Cryptocurrency

On the crypto front, each of the three cryptocurrencies within are so far in the green. Ethereum (+4.86%) is up the most at nearly five percent, resulting in ETH rising to a price of around $333. Next, Ripple (+1.81%) is up nearly two percent with XRP now having a price of around $0.2476. Lastly, Bitcoin (+0.08%) is up less than a tenth of a percent so far, with BTC having a price of around $11,114.
