Overview of today’s trading day:

Major stock indices around the world mostly ended in the red, with all indices in the Americas and most in Europe ending in the red. In the APAC group, indices mostly ended in the green. Metals such as Gold and Silver are up so far, while Platinum is down since it’s open. As for oil, Brent is so far in the green meanwhile Crude is in the red. Lastly, Crypto is mostly in the green so far with Bitcoin and Ripple increasing, while Ethereum has slightly fallen since it’s open.

Americas

In the Americas group, five out of five indices ended in the red today. Leading the losses was the NASDAQ (-1.27%), which fell over one and a quarter percent today. Up next was the Dow (-0.77%) and S&P 500 (-0.65%), with both indices losing well over half a percent. The best performance from this group today was by the S&P/TSX (-0.25%), which fell by a quarter percent come market close.

Europe

In the Europe group, three out of five indices ended in the green. The FTSE (+0.4%) led the group with a gain just under half a percent. Next was the SMI (+0.05%) followed by the Euro Stoxx (+0.02%), with both inching into the green by less than a tenth of a percent. The biggest loss was experienced by the CAC (-0.22%), which fell just under a quarter percent come market close.

In the APAC group, four out of six indices ended in the green today. Leading the gains was the KOSPI (+1.76%), which increased by over one and three quarters of a percent. Next up was the Sensex (+1.47%) and SSE (+0.71%), with the former gaining roughly one and a half percent while the latter over half a percent. The worst performance from this group today was seen by the S&P/ASX (-0.39%), which fell over a quarter percent come market close.

As for oil, Brent (+0.53%) is up so far over half a percent while Crude (-1.23%) is down roughly one and a quarter percent. Per barrel prices are at around $43.64 for Brent and $41.09 for Crude.

Cryptocurrency

On the crypto front, Bitcoin (+0.04%) and Ripple (+3.72%) are in the green so far with Bitcoin slowly increasing while Ripple is up over three and a half percent. This has left the price of Bitcoin at around $11,027 and Ripple at around $0.2327. As for Ethereum (-0.30%), so far ETH is down over a quarter percent resulting in the price sinking down to around $320.
