Overview of today’s trading day:

Major stock indices around the world mostly ended in the green today, with every index in the Americas group and most in the APAC group ending in the green. As for the Europe group, most indices ended in the red. Metals such as Gold, Silver and Platinum are all up so far along with Brent and Crude oil. As for crypto, Bitcoin, Ethereum and Ripple are also up significantly so far today.

Americas

In the Americas group, five out of five indices ended in the green today. The Bovespa (+2.14%) led with over a two percent increase. Next was the NASDAQ (+1.68%) at over one and a half percent followed by the S&P/TSX (+0.99%) at roughly one percent. The weakest performance from this group today was by the Dow (+0.47%), which fell just under half a percent today.

Europe

In the Europe group, three out of five indices ended in the red today. Leading the losses was the CAC (-0.34%), with a decrease of over a quarter percent. Next was the FTSE (-0.31%) followed by the Euro Stoxx (-0.24%), with the former losing over a quarter percent while the latter less than a quarter percent. The only index ending in the green today from this group was the SMI (+0.57%), which increased by over half a percent.

APAC

In the APAC group, half of the indices ended in the green while the other half in the red. Leading the gains was the KOSPI (+0.79%), with an increase of well over half a percent. Next up was the S&P/ASX (+0.34%) followed by the SSE (+0.26%), with both gaining over a quarter percent come market close. The worst performing index from this group today was the Sensex (-0.51%), which fell just over half a percent come market close.

As for commodities, metals including Gold (+1.18%), Silver (+5.22%) and Platinum (+1.28%) are all in the green so far with Silver up the most by over five percent. As for oil, Brent (+0.9%) and Crude (+1.29%) are both in the green too, with the former up less than one percent while the latter is up over one and a quarter percent. Per barrel prices are at around $43.58 for Brent and $41.09 for Crude

Cryptocurrency

On the crypto front, each of the three cryptocurrencies included within continue to experienced gains, with Bitcoin (+8.65%) leading so far at over eight and a half percent. Next up Ethereum (+4.21%) is continuing it’s bull run and is up over four percent so far today. Lastly, Ripple (+3.12%) is also significantly in the green so far today with over a three percent gain.
