Overview of today’s trading day:

Major stock indices mostly ended in the red, with every index in the Americas and most in the Europe group experiencing losses today. As for the APAC group, half ended in the red while the other half in the green. Gold is so far in the green today while Silver and Platinum are in the red. Brent and Crude oil are also in the red so far today. Lastly, crypto is so far in the green, with each Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Ripple experiencing gains.

Americas

In the Americas group, five out of five indices ended in the red today. Leading the losses was the NASDAQ (-2.29%), which fell over two percent come market close. Next was the Bovespa (-1.92%) and the Dow (-1.31%), with the former losing nearly two percent while the latter over one percent. The best performance from this group today was by the S&P/TSX (-0.88%), which still took a loss of nearly one percent.

In the Europe group, three out of five indices ended in the red today. The biggest loss was taken by the SMI (-0.53%), which fell over half a percent come market close. Next up was the CAC (-0.07%) and DAX (-0.01%), with both declining by less than a tenth of a percent. The best performance from this group today was seen by the FTSE (+0.07%), which gained less than a quarter percent today.

Next was the Sensex (+0.71%), which also gained over half a percent followed by the S&P/ASX (+0.32%) with an increase of less than half a percent. The worst performance from this group today was seen by the Nikkei (-0.58%), which fell over half a percent.

As for commodities, Gold (+1.02%) is so far in the green while Silver (-1.68%) and Platinum (-0.68%) are both in the red so far, with Silver changing the most by over one and a half percent. Brent (-1.81%) and Crude (-1.55%) are also both down with both declining by over one and a half percent. This has left per barrel prices at around $43.49 for Brent and $41.25 for Crude.

Cryptocurrency

On the crypto front, each of the three cryptos included within are so far in the green, with Ethereum (+3.78%) up by over three and a half percent, resulting in ETH climbing to a price of around $273.24. Next, Ripple (+2.43%) is in the green by nearly two and a half percent, resulting in XRP climbing to a price of around $0.2085. Lastly, Bitcoin (+0.72%) is up over half a percent with a price of around $9582 at the time of writing.
