Overview of today’s trading day:

Major stock indices mostly ended in the red today with every index in the Europe group and most from the APAC group experiencing losses. Metals including Gold, Silver and Platinum are up so far while oil is down. Lastly, crypto is mostly in the green so far, with Ripple and Ethereum up while Bitcoin is down.

Americas

In the Americas group, four out of five indices ended in the green today. Leading the gains was the Dow (+0.62%) with an increase of over half a percent followed by the S&P 500 (+0.57%), which also experienced a gain of over half a percent. Next, the NASDAQ (+0.24%) managed to gain just under a quarter percent while the worst performing index, the Bovespa (-0.02%) inched into the red by a fraction of a percent.

In the Europe group, five out of five indices ended in the red today. Leading the losses was the CAC (-1.32%) with a decrease of well over one percent. Next was the Euro Stoxx (-1.02%) and FTSE (-1.0%), with both losing around one percent come market close. The best performing index from this group today was the SMI (-0.05%), which experienced a loss of less than a tenth of a percent.

In the APAC group, five out of six indices ended in the red today. The Hang Seng (-2.25%) led the losses with over a two percent decrease. Next, the S&P/ASX (-1.32%) fell by well over one percent followed by the Nikkei (-0.58%) with a loss of over half a percent. The best performing index from this group today, and the only one ending in the green, was the SSE (+0.37%) with a gain of over a quarter percent.

Brent (-0.09%) and Crude (-0.21%) are both in the red so far, with both down under a quarter percent so far. Per barrel prices are at around $44.28 for Brent and $41.87 for Crude.

Next, Ethereum (+0.15%) is up by less than a quarter percent resulting in the price rising to around $245.89. Lastly, Bitcoin (-0.14%) is so far in the red by less than a quarter percent, resulting in a price of around $9374.
