Overview of today’s trading day:

Major stock indices mostly experienced gains today, with all indices in the Americas group ending in the green, most in the Europe group ending in the green, and finally half in the APAC group ending in the green. Metals including Gold, Silver and Platinum are up so far along with Brent and Crude. As for crypto, each of the three included within are in the red so far, with Ripple being down the most.

Americas

In the Americas group, five out of five indices ended in the green today. Leading the gains was the NASDAQ (+2.51%) with over a two and a half percent increase. Up next was the Bovespa (+1.4%) with an increase of just below one and a half percent followed by the S&P 500 (+0.85%) at over half a percent. The weakest performance from this group today was seen by the Dow (+0.03%), which managed to inch into the green by less than a tenth of a percent.

Europe

In the Europe group, four out of five indices ended in the green today. The DAX (+0.99%) led with roughly a one percent gain, followed by the Euro Stoxx (+0.68%) at over half a percent and finally the SMI (+0.48%) at less than half a percent. The worst performance from this group today, and the only index ending in the red, was the FTSE (-0.46%) at just under half a percent.

In the APAC group, half of the indices ended in the green while half ended in the red today. Leading the gains was the SSE (+3.11%) with an increase of over three percent. Next up was the Sensex (+1.08%) and the Nikkei (+0.09%), with the former gaining over one percent while the latter less than a tenth of a percent. The worst performance from this group was by the S&P/ASX (-0.53%), which fell over half a percent come market close.

Commodities

As for commodities, metals including Gold (+0.47%), Silver (+2.95%) and Platinum (+1.19%) are all in the green so far since open. Silver is the deepest in the green with an increase of nearly three percent. As for oil, Brent (+0.16%) and Crude (+0.05%) are also both in the green so far today, with the former up by over a tenth of a percent while the latter by less than a tenth of a percent. This has left per barrel prices at around $43.12 for Brent and $40.77 for Crude.

Cryptocurrency

On the crypto front, each of the three cryptos within are so far in the red today. Ripple (-2.63%) is down the most with a loss of over two and a half percent, which brought the price of XRP down to $0.1943. Next, Ethereum (-1.46%) is down by roughly one and a half percent, resulting in a price change down to $235.51. Lastly, Bitcoin (-0.52%) is in the red by over half a percent causing the price of BTC to drop to $9159.7.
