Overview of today’s trading day:

Major stock indices around the world mostly ended in the red today, with all indices in the Europe group, most in the Americas group, and half in the APAC group experiencing losses. Metals including Gold, Silver and Platinum are all in the green today. Lastly, crypto is in the red for the most part, with two out of the three cryptocurrencies experiencing losses today.

Americas

In the Americas group, four out of five indices ended in the red today. Leading the losses was the Bovespa (-1.29%), which fell over one percent come market close. Up next was the S&P/TSX (-0.29%) followed by the Dow (-0.28%), with both losing over a quarter percent today. The best performing index from this group, and the only one ending in the green today, was the NASDAQ (+0.24%), which gained roughly a quarter percent come market close.

In the Europe group, five out of five indices ended in the red today. Leading the losses was the FTSE (-1.5%), which fell over one and a half percent. Next up was the DAX (-0.5%) with a loss of half a percent followed by the Euro Stoxx (-0.6%), which lost over half a percent. The best performance from this group today was seen by the SMI (-0.18%), which fell less than a quarter percent come market close.

Up next was the KOSPI (+0.21%) and the SSE (+0.04%), with both managing to end in the green by less than a quarter percent today. The worst performance from this group today was by the S&P/ASX (-0.67%), which fell over half a percent come market close.

Brent (-0.84%) and Crude (-0.84%) are in the red by just under one percent, with per barrel prices at around $45.05 and $42.31 respectively.

Cryptocurrency

On the crypto front, two of the three cryptocurrencies included within are in the red so far. Ethereum (+1.73%) is up at over one and a half percent, with the price of ETH at around $393. Ripple (-1.07%) is down over one percent, with the price of XRP at around $0.2793. Lastly, Bitcoin (-0.45%) is down by just under half a percent, with BTC declining in price to around $11,504.
