Overview of today’s trading day:

Major stock indices around the world mostly ended in the green today, with each index in the Europe group and all but one in the APAC group experiencing gains. However, every index in the Americas group ended in the red today. Metals including Gold, Silver and Platinum are all in the red so far along with both Brent and Crude oil. Lastly, crypto is also deep in the red, with Bitcoin, Ethereum and Ripple all in the red so far today.

Americas

In the Americas group, five out of five indices ended in the red, with the NASDAQ (-1.69%) leading the losses with a decline of over one and a half percent. Up next was the Bovespa (-1.1%) down over one percent followed by the S&P 500 (-0.79%) with a loss of over half a percent. The best performance from this group today was seen by the Dow (-0.37%), which fell just under half a percent come market close.

Europe

In the Europe group, five out of five indices ended in the green today, with the CAC (+2.41%) leading the gains with nearly a two and a half percent increase. This was followed by the Euro Stoxx (+2.22%) and the DAX (+2.04%), with both increasing over two percent. The weakest performance from this group today was seen by the SMI (+0.62%), which still managed to gain over half a percent.

APAC

In the APAC group, five out of six indices ended in the green today. The biggest gain was seen by the Hang Seng (+2.11%), which increased by over two percent. Up next was the Nikkei (+1.88%) at just under two percent followed by the KOSPI (+1.35%) at over one percent. The worst performance from this group today, and the only index ending in the red, was by the SSE (-1.15%), which fell over one percent come market close.

As for commodities, metals including Gold (-5.1%), Silver (-14.35%) and Platinum (-5.55%) are deep in the red, with Silver losing the most so far at over fourteen percent. Brent (-1.13%) and Crude (-1.0%) are also down with both losing over one percent. Per barrel prices are at around $44.48 for Brent and $41.52 for Crude.

Cryptocurrency

On the crypto front, each of the three cryptocurrencies included within are in the red so far today. Bitcoin (-4.22%) is down the most at over four percent, with the price dropping below $11,400. Next, Ethereum (-3.87%) is down just under four percent too, with the price of ETH dropping to around $380. Lastly, Ripple (-2.73%) is down over two and a half percent, with the price of XRP dropping to around $0.2866.
