Zelensky: Russian War Casualties Six Times Higher Than Ukraine's

The Chair of the US House Intelligence Committee, Mike Turner, has expressed support for Ukraine's right to strike valid military targets within Russia. This stance aligns with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg’s remarks in June that limiting Ukraine's ability to retaliate against Russian aggression is akin to expecting them to defend themselves with one hand tied behind their back.

This statement comes amidst the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine which escalated into a full-scale invasion by Russia in February 2022. According to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, this war has seen significant losses on both sides - with a ratio of six Russian personnel lost for each Ukrainian casualty.

Zelensky links this disparity not only to the larger size of the Russian force but also highlights how much Ukrainians value their people. Despite being outnumbered, he maintains that technological advancement will be key in overcoming these odds and insists on the need for Western assistance in closing loopholes allowing Russia to evade sanctions related particularly its domestic drone and missile production.

As well as directly supporting Ukrainian technology manufacturing efforts, Zelensky emphasizes curtailing Russia’s primary source of revenue – oil and gas exports – as crucial in undermining their aggressive actions towards Ukraine.

In Kyiv itself, new tactics are being employed by Russian forces seeking an opportune moment to attack. The city remains a high priority target despite previous strikes having been successfully repelled or intercepted before causing mass destruction or loss of life.

Meanwhile evidence suggests defective munitions may be plaguing Russia's own territories as Washington Post reports multiple incidents where glide bombs have landed within its borders due likely malfunctioning guidance systems. These weapons have proven effective during attacks on Kharkiv Oblast despite their apparent unreliability.

Ukraine is responding aggressively through cyber warfare too. Military intelligence agency HUR reportedly executed large scale cyberattacks affecting over 250k consumers across occupied Crimea and other areas under Russian control by disrupting local accounting systems and traffic registration, causing extensive communication blackouts.

Turner’s visit to Kyiv as part of a bipartisan delegation of US members of Congress saw him express a stance more aggressive than that currently held by the Biden administration. He supports Ukraine's right to use American-supplied weapons for strikes against Russia - something already permitted near the border with Kharkiv Oblast since June 1 but still prohibited deeper within Russian territory.

This position is justified in light of Russia's significantly larger arms production capability which continues to ramp up despite Western efforts at undermining their industrial and military output. Turner argues that this disparity in firepower should also be met with force, emphasizing the necessity for Ukraine to respond proportionately.

Russian President Vladimir Putin recently announced an increase in ammunition production by over 20 times and has called for resumption of short- and intermediate-range nuclear-capable missiles manufacturing. This escalating arms race underscores the urgency behind calls like those made by Turner, highlighting how crucial it is for Ukraine – under constant threat from its powerful neighbor – to have every possible means available for defending itself.
