BEIJING, Oct. 16 (Xinhua) -- FIFA, the governing body for world football, announced on Wednesday that China's multinational technology titan Lenovo has been named as the Official FIFA Technology Partner. This partnership will cover both the 2026 FIFA World Cup and the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup.

Under this partnership agreement, Lenovo will provide a wide array of technology solutions to FIFA. These range from AI (artificial intelligence) applications to devices and data center infrastructure, with all initiatives aimed at enhancing fan experiences and global broadcasts.

Yang Yuanqing, Chairman and CEO of Lenovo, expressed his pride in supporting FIFA's vision of utilizing technology to uplift the game. He said, "Lenovo is proud to support FIFA’s vision of leveraging technology to elevate the game, enhance the fan experience worldwide, and foster innovation that levels the playing field." He further added how excited he was about their cutting-edge tech taking center stage during these tournaments, showing off its transformative power.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino also shared his excitement about welcoming Lenovo on board into their journey, saying, “We are excited to welcome Lenovo into our journey and work with them implementing technologies, innovations, and programs that spread our sport.”

He highlighted how combining data with technology helps better understand fans, which can then be used for creating unparalleled unforgettable experiences during both upcoming tournaments—the Men's World Cup in 2026 and the Women's World Cup in 2027.

As per this announcement made by both parties involved, products and services solutions provided by Lenovo, including but not limited to AI-powered innovations like iconic ThinkPad laptops, tablets, Motorola mobile phones, and servers, will be integrated into both of these tournaments happening across two consecutive years, starting from the year 2026 onwards till the year end of 2027, respectively.

This technological integration aims at driving improved fan experiences within stadiums while simultaneously enhancing global broadcast quality, providing deeper analytics, and democratizing data access across all regions and countries where football gets played globally, irrespective of geographical boundaries or cultural differences between nations, ensuring a level playing field for everyone involved directly or indirectly with this beautiful game called ‘Football’.

This announcement marks a significant step in the evolution of sports technology partnerships, setting new standards for fan engagement and experience. It is also a testament to Lenovo's commitment to innovation and its status as a global leader in providing cutting-edge technological solutions.

In conclusion, through this partnership with FIFA, Lenovo will be showcasing its prowess in AI innovations and other tech solutions on an international stage that reaches billions of people worldwide. This not only reinforces their position as leaders within the tech industry but also underlines their commitment to enhancing global sporting events by raising the bar for technological integration into these tournaments.

The world eagerly awaits how this collaboration between two giants—one from the footballing world and another from the technology sector—will revolutionize our viewing experiences during these highly anticipated tournaments.
