Wrexham AFC has announced an official sports drink partnership with Gatorade, the global leader in sports fuel. The collaboration will support both the men's and women's teams at Wrexham in their ongoing pursuit to reach the Premier League.

The club stated, "Securing our second consecutive promotion was a significant achievement for us. This partnership allows Gatorade to support Wrexham through its science-backed products and innovations." Fans can expect to see branding from this world-renowned company on the sidelines of all Wrexham AFC games, as well as within FX's upcoming season of "Welcome to Wrexham," premiering Thursday, May 2, 2024.

Club co-chairmen Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds expressed their excitement over this new venture. They said: "We are incredibly pleased and humbled to welcome Gatorade as an official partner of Wrexham Association Football Club. We are officially pretty darn official! Admittedly, filling those water bottles with Aviation Gin early on was reckless and shortsighted. Thankfully, our team forgave us for that misstep and went on performing admirably—thanks in part to Gatorade!"

Gatorade is renowned worldwide for being one of the most researched sports drinks available today. It offers a wide range of hydration options designed specifically for athletes, whether they're training or celebrating post-match victories.

Under this partnership agreement, players at Wrexham AFC will have access to resources offered by the Gatorade Sports Science Institute (GSSI). The institute is dedicated to helping athletes optimize their health and performance through research-based education services focusing on hydration and nutrition science.

As part of their work with GSSI, players from both men’s and women’s teams will undergo sweat testing, a process where sweat patterns are analyzed by experts at GSSI, who then develop customized fuel plans based upon these findings, ensuring effective hydration strategies for each athlete individually.

Future plans for the partnership also include co-branded merchandise such as exclusive Wrexham GX bottles and towels.

Michael Del Pozzo, President and General Manager at Gatorade, expressed his enthusiasm over this new partnership. He said, "We are thrilled to welcome Wrexham AFC into our family. They have captured the attention of global soccer fans and pop culture enthusiasts alike, making them a perfect fit as our newest partner."

Del Pozzo further added: "This partnership is unique for us in that it leverages the powerful intersection of sports and entertainment to reach new audiences worldwide. From natural integration within 'Welcome to Wrexham' to using our products and GSSI's capabilities to fuel teams, we look forward to an exciting journey ahead."

The collaboration between these two entities signifies a promising future not only for both parties but also for their fans, who eagerly anticipate seeing how this synergy will enhance performance on the field while providing engaging content off it.
