The Department of Civil and Industrial Buildings at the Universitatea Tehnica Gh. Asachi in Iasi, Romania, is a leading institution in the fields of construction management, project management, structural health monitoring, masonry, and 3D-printed concrete. Masonry has been an essential part of human civilization since ancient times. From the grandeur of Egyptian pyramids to Roman aqueducts' engineering marvels and medieval cathedrals' sublime artistry, masonry bears testimony to mankind's architectural progress over centuries. Today, it continues to be an integral component of modern-day infrastructure worldwide. 
 
In recent times, there has been a significant shift towards environmentally friendly materials and techniques in this ancient craft. This includes advanced research into robotics for automatic assembly procedures, digital design methods for precision planning, and exploring the potential uses of 3D-printed concrete, thereby opening new avenues for innovation within masonry. 
 
The department invites contributions to its upcoming Special Issue: Structural Assessment and Strengthening of Masonry Structures, focusing on the mechanics of masonry structures, novel materials used therein, theoretical investigations, numerical approaches, and technical applications either in new constructions or strengthening existing heritage buildings. 
 
Contributions can be submitted online at www.mdpi.com, where authors must register before submitting their work through a dedicated submission form provided on site. The deadline for manuscript submissions will be announced soon, after which all papers passing pre-check will undergo a peer-review process before being continuously listed under the special issue website section upon acceptance.
