Trump and Harris Ready for Debate, Both Claim

The political landscape in the United States is set for another dramatic turn as former President Donald Trump announced his willingness to debate Vice President Kamala Harris, who is now presumed to be the Democratic nominee following President Joe Biden's withdrawal from the race. This announcement was made on Tuesday when Trump addressed reporters stating that he believed a debate between Republican and Democratic candidates was crucial for any presidential race.

Trump expressed openness towards participating in more than one debate with Harris. His belief is rooted in the idea that both Republican and Democratic contenders have an obligation to engage in debates, considering their significance within a presidential campaign context. The concept of multiple debates has been backed by several outlets reporting on this development.

However, Thursday saw VP Kamala Harris responding via X (formerly known as Twitter), where she agreed to participate but also accused Trump of reneging on his commitment towards holding a scheduled September 10th debate with Biden. She insinuated that voters deserved visibility into contrasting views presented live during such debates.

It should be noted here that Trump had previously consented to two separate debates with Biden. The first of these took place on June 27th where Biden's performance left much to be desired, raising concerns about his age and ability to govern effectively. These concerns led many voices calling for him to withdraw from the race, subsequently endorsing Harris instead.

Despite this changeover, uncertainties still loom over details surrounding a potential face-off between Harris and Trump. While it remains unclear whether they will adhere to the original date or opt for changes along with possibly adding additional dates before or after September 10th; indications are there about them maintaining status quo according to what VP Harris shared through her tweet.

Further complications arise as reports suggest dissatisfaction among Team Trump regarding ABC hosting this second round of debates; citing bias against them while expressing preference towards Fox News being chosen as hosts instead.

These developments raise questions around whether former President Donald J.Trump tries to alter debate terms which he had earlier agreed upon with Biden. It is a matter of concern and something that needs close monitoring.

In retrospect, it was in mid-May when Trump and Biden initially agreed on two debates. Despite the June debate proving disastrous for Biden, he still believed himself to be the right candidate capable of defeating Trump even though his performance suggested otherwise. However, after weeks of pressure calling for his withdrawal from the race, Biden finally conceded, endorsing Harris as the Democratic nominee.

The first debate between Trump and Biden drew 51.3 million viewers marking a decline by about 30% compared to their initial face-off during the 2020 elections.

Moving forward, it's crucial to keep an eye out on how this situation develops especially in context of whether or not Trump tries changing previously-agreed-upon terms pertaining to these debates; considering VP Harris being projected as Democrats' new torchbearer following President Joe Biden's exit from presidential contention.
