Reverting Fallout 4's Next-Gen Update: A Guide
By Emily Swensen

Last week, Bethesda released the Next-Gen Update for Fallout 4. This development was met with great anticipation from fans, who were eager to experience new features and improvements in the game. However, contrary to expectations, this update turned out to be a major disappointment.
One of the main issues that came up after the release of this patch is its incompatibility with many mods—modifications made by players or developers outside Bethesda to enhance gameplay or add new content. This has caused frustration among gamers who have heavily relied on these mods for an improved gaming experience.
Moreover, despite claims made by Bethesda prior to its release about adding ultra-wide monitor support for PC users, it turned out not to be true. As a result, PC gamers have found themselves left high and dry without any significant enhancements from this much-awaited update.
In addition to these setbacks, there's no ray tracing or path tracing included within the upgrade, which could potentially improve graphics quality significantly. To top it off, game speed remains locked at 60 frames per second, leaving no room for better performance on higher-end hardware devices.
Despite all these disappointments, however, there is light at the end of the tunnel! Thankfully enough, you can roll back your Fallout 4 game version using some handy commands we've listed below:

For those still interested in enhancing their Fallout 4 experience despite recent developments, don’t fret! There are numerous other mods available, including LOD Mod, which reduces distant objects, shadows, and textures pop-ins; Disk Cache Enabler Mod; Ragdoll Physics & Collisions for Dead Bodies Mod; and many more.
Even though the Next-Gen update was a letdown, there are still promising mods out there that can enhance your gaming experience. For instance, Fallout New Vegas Remake in Fallout 4 is an eagerly anticipated mod not yet released. There’s also Fallout: Miami and America Rising 2, which integrates the Enclave faction into the main story with 24 new quests.
And if you're looking to add even more hours of gameplay, consider downloading fan expansions like Caves of the Commonwealth or Fallout London.
In conclusion, while Bethesda's recent update may have been a disappointment for some players, it doesn’t mean the end of the road for enhancing your Fallout 4 experience! With plenty of other mods available, both existing and upcoming, gamers can still look forward to exciting times ahead within Wastelands, post-apocalyptic Boston!
