Today, on World Day for Safety and Health at Work, WakeCap, a leading innovator in smart solutions for construction site management, is proud to announce its significant contributions towards enhancing safety measures at Jafurah, the largest liquid-rich shale gas play in the Middle East by Saudi Aramco. Through advanced Internet of Things (IoT) solution implementation, WakeCap has achieved an impressive 91% reduction in safety observations both on and off the facility located around the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia.

WakeCap's real-time monitoring and analytics have revolutionized safety management protocols across the vast expanse of the Jafurah site. The system tracks approximately 8,000 staff members and about 400 vehicles with patented helmet-mounted devices combined with live CCTV cameras equipped with video AI technology. This proactive approach identifies potential threats or violations early enough to significantly reduce risks while boosting the onsite safety culture.

In its initial deployment phase alone, WakeCap's state-of-the-art technology identified hundreds of safety concerns that were swiftly addressed using automated flagging systems coupled with a dedicated control center, ensuring consistent procedures. As a result of these immediate corrective actions taken based on data provided by our system, we saw a substantial decrease in events by up to 91%.

Hassan Albalawi, CEO and co-founder of WakeCap, said: "Our achievement reflects not just technological prowess but also remarkable progress towards better working conditions that minimize accidents amidst challenging environments like ours. We're establishing industry standards for data-powered visibility while promoting a pervasive culture centered on heightened awareness about compliance through cutting-edge methods."

As part of its innovative strategy to bolster onsite security protocols further, WakeCap launched an efficient digital passport system, providing unique digital IDs for each individual present onsite. It streamlines access control mechanisms besides maintaining updated records pertaining to every worker’s training history, thus ensuring strict adherence to all prescribed safe practices.

Wakecap’s solution simplified how managers operated and tracked over 1,400 toolbox meetings, which are daily briefings on work plans and safety issues. This has reduced wasted time and promoted a consistent approach to site safety.

The vehicle tracking system installed by WakeCap is far superior to traditional speed cameras as it tracks vehicles all the time everywhere, unlike speed cameras that only catch overspeeding at specific points of installation, resulting in an impressive 70% decrease in overspeeding violations alone.

Albalawi added: "Our efforts so far at the Jafurah facility clearly demonstrate our unwavering commitment towards setting new standards for construction and operational safety. We'll continue pushing technology frontiers within the construction industry, but we go beyond mere innovation; we're creating safer working environments because we firmly believe that safety is paramount."
