Samsung's commitment to continuous innovation is once again evident, as rumors of new Galaxy AI features continue to circulate. TM Roh, the company's mobile boss, hinted in February that there are more AI enhancements on the horizon for compatible Galaxy devices. Now, thanks to the well-known Samsung leaker Ice Universe, we may have a better idea of what one of these exciting updates could be.

According to Ice Universe, "the key functional innovation of One UI 6.1.1 will be video AI." This statement refers to the next significant software update from Samsung. However, without further information from Ice Universe about what exactly "video AI" entails, it is speculated that this feature might either be an advanced generative AI-powered video editing tool or some form of intelligent assistance for shooting videos.

The news comes shortly after Samsung reiterated its ongoing development efforts via their official X account: “Our collaboration with Google continues. Exciting things are coming up for the future of AI-powered Android and Galaxy experiences,” they wrote in a post.

Currently included in Samsung’s suite of Galaxy AI features are Generative Edit, which allows users to resize, remove, or reposition elements within an image, and Instant Slow-Mo, which uses artificial intelligence-driven frame generation technology to convert regular videos into slow-motion ones. Could this mysterious "video AI" feature enhance these creative tools by allowing retroactive video composition editing? Or perhaps we're looking at something along the lines of OpenAI's Sora, a full-fledged text-to-video generator?

While we await confirmation on details from Samsung itself regarding this intriguing aspect rumored under One UI 6.1.1 (whose precursor was unveiled at January’s Galaxy Unpacked event), speculation suggests that it might surface during their upcoming event predicted to occur on July 10 based on recent leaks.

This hint towards innovative developments serves as not just good news but also reassurance for owners who recently invested in Samsung Galaxy S24 phones. Samsung has publicly committed to supporting seven generations of OS updates and providing seven years of security updates for all devices in the Galaxy S24 line. It is exciting to know that these devices will not merely be maintained but also enhanced over time.

In addition, it's worth speculating whether this new “video AI” feature might also land on previous-generation Galaxy phones. The fact that Samsung Galaxy S23 phones received every single AI feature just two months after their debut on the Galaxy S24 line gives us reason to believe a similar pattern could follow with any upcoming features too. For a comprehensive overview regarding compatibility across various models, refer to our detailed guide explaining Samsung Galaxy AI compatibility.

As we eagerly await further news from Samsung about its latest developments, one thing remains clear: they continue pushing boundaries in mobile technology innovation and remain dedicated to improving user experiences through advanced artificial intelligence technologies.
